We’re proud to share that assessors visited our Northallerton head office last week and we have now been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This is a significant milestone for our organisation, and we’ve already begun work to extend this certification across the whole organisation.
What is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials Plus is a nationally recognised certification that goes beyond basic cybersecurity standards. This means our IT systems have been externally tested and verified to ensure they meet rigorous security requirements. This certification assures anyone using our services that we take cybersecurity seriously and are doing the right things to protect our systems and data.
Why this matters to our organisation
As an organisation that supports people with advice on issues such as debt, housing, employment and legal matters, we handle sensitive and confidential information every day. Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus ensures we have IT security controls in place that are effective and robust. This certification is part of our ongoing commitment to continuously improve how we protect our organisation and the services we deliver.
Why this matters to the people who use our services
For the people and communities we support across North Yorkshire, trust is essential. When someone comes to us for advice, they need to know that their personal information is handled with care and protected from cyber threats. Cyber Essentials Plus provides reassurance that we are taking the necessary steps to protect personal data. We are committed to safeguarding information as part of delivering safe, reliable services.
Cyber Essentials Plus is more than a certificate, it’s a statement of our values and our responsibility to protect both our organisation and the people who turn to us for help. It helps us to ensure that North Yorkshire Citizens Advice & Law Centre continues to be a trusted, secure and reliable source of support for our communities.
